AI Research Engineer

About the Role

We are building intelligent systems that can see, speak, understand, and act. As an AI Research Engineer, you will work at the frontier of LLM-based agents and multimodal AI, turning cutting-edge research into real products used by millions across the Middle East and Southeast Asia. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to ship AI features that are not just smart, but delightful.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize LLM-based and multimodal agent architectures for production-grade AI products.
• Conduct experiments in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and agentic workflows.
• Build and maintain evaluation frameworks for AI model performance, safety, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Backend) to integrate AI capabilities into mobile and web applications.
• Stay current with the latest research in LLMs, vision-language models, and AI agents; translate papers into practical implementations.
• Contribute to internal AI tooling, SDKs, and infrastructure to accelerate team velocity.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proficient in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX).
• Hands-on experience with LLMs (GPT, Llama, Gemini, Claude) including fine-tuning, RLHF, or prompt engineering.
• Strong understanding of NLP, computer vision, or multimodal learning.
• Experience building end-to-end ML pipelines (data collection, training, evaluation, deployment).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

Nice to Have

• Publications in top-tier AI/ML conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, CVPR, etc.) related to LLMs or agentic AI.
• Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus) and retrieval systems.
• Familiarity with on-device AI / edge deployment for mobile applications.
• Experience with AI safety, alignment, or responsible AI practices.
• Contributions to open-source AI projects or active presence in the AI research community.
